  1. Sesuaikan lamaran Anda dengan iklan yang Anda tanggapi. Gunakan kata-kata yang telah disesuaikan dengan iklan

2. Gunakanlah lamaran berbahasa Inggris, karena lamaran berbahasa Inggris meningkatkan persepsi kualitas dua kali lebih baik dari lamaran berbahasa Indonesia.

3. Gunakan kertas sejenis conqueror untuk mencetak lamaran Anda. Jangan gunakan kertas HVS biasa.

4. Gunakan amplop khusus untuk lamaran Anda. Lamaran dengan amplop coklat membuat Anda sama saja dengan pelamar lain. Buatlah amplop sendiri menggunakan kertas conqueror yang sama dengan kertas lamaran Anda.

5. Buatlah riwayat hidup Anda dengan versi resume, bukan dengan versi CV.

6. Masukkanlah hanya data yang penting dan menjual saja pada lamaran Anda. Setiap data tidak penting dan menjual hanya akan menurunkan kualitas lamaran Anda.

7. Berfotolah dengan pakaian jas dan dasi untuk pria, atau three-pieces suite untuk wanita. Gunakan foto berwarna dan ukuran 4X6

8. Ceritakan dengan baik pengalaman Anda dalam bentuk action word. Beri gambaran pada perekrut kompetensi apa yang Anda kuasai.

9. Tulislah riwayat hidup Anda dengan versi kronologis terbalik. Perekrut menganggap bahwa pelamar yang menulis resume secara kronologis terbalik adalah kandidat professional dan memiliki kompetensi

10. Pertimbangkan dokumen yang Anda masukkan ke dalam amplop lamaran dengan seksama. Semakin sedikit lembar dokumen yang Anda masukkan, asalkan benar-benar penting dan membangun persepsi kompetensi, makin membuat perekrut menaruh respek dan penghargaan pada Anda.

11. Kirimkan lamaran Anda pada hari iklan dimuat. Amplop awal yang datang pasti akan dibuka oleh perekrut. Amplop ke-4000 yang datang mungkin sekali tak akan pernah sempat dibuka perekrut. ( nuansaonline.net)
